More than a month has passed now Frostpunk 2 Finally gracing our PCs, the long-awaited sequel to one of the best city builders has just received its first major patch since launch. While there isn’t a lot of new content to delve into, your experience as an Arctic architect will now be even smoother, as this rich update brings dozens of quality-of-life improvements – more than 150 in fact.
While there are plenty of epic city-building games out there, none feel as comfortable as the original Frostpunk. The brutal fight for survival is more intense than any competitor of any kind, and the aesthetic of the industrial buildings and frozen backdrop make it look and feel unique. That’s a great basis for a sequel, right? Well, even though Icepunk 2 sold well initially and turned a profit just days after its release, it’s safe to say that it wasn’t as universally popular as its predecessor.
The team at 11 bit Studios has been working hard to incorporate player feedback and hopes to significantly improve the Frostpunk 2 experience with patch 1.1.0. This huge update addresses some of the community’s biggest issues, adding new navigation and camera controls, settings that let you control the pace of autosaves, color-coded borders for areas, and more.
As your settlement grows, it can be difficult to see the full picture and make dynamic decisions as you build. Well, now you have expanded mapping scope that gives you a broader view of your city. You can also cancel a build while it’s in progress.
Frostbreak can now also be canceled if you reconsider using resources to expand your settlement. Regarding Frostbreak, if you want to do some serious expansion later in the game, you can now select up to eight cells at a time.
The update also includes a bunch of performance enhancements and crash fixes, which should make things run a lot smoother.
